UAE Ministry of Education honors top 12th grade students

Recognizing academic excellence motivates students to continue towards the path to distinction - Minister Al Hammadi
 
July 10, 2014 - PRLog -- [UAE, July 10, 2014] -  The UAE Ministry of Education honored yesterday (Thursday, July 10, 2014) the top students in the 12th grade for the academic year 2013 – 2-14. The ceremony was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. During the event, H.E. Hussain Bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, handed out Certificates of Appreciation accompanied with the token award from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to students who excelled academically this school year.

The ceremony, which took place at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai, was attended by leaders from the Ministry of Education, school districts and parents of the awardees. His Highness handed the 52 student beneficiaries a hundred thousand dirham’s along with laptops for each one.

Speaking at the occasion, the Minister Al Hammadi stated, “The awards and honors received by these students from our wise leadership is aimed at enhancing the status of education and the development process of our country’s academic agenda—which affirms the country’s continued interest and mission in developing the education segment. Today’s ceremony demonstrates the ministry’s commitment to support top academic performers and to further motivate them towards the path to distinction.”

Minister Al Hammadi further pointed out that the Ministry and its employees are proud of the academic excellence achieved by this year’s batch of honorees. In fact, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, also honored the top students earlier this week by awarding them with distinctive medals that are meant to inspire the students to drive for more success and to continue with the pursuit of excellence in their lives and for their future.

Minister Al Hammadi also pointed out that H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum expressed his continued support for this platform, which has now become an ultimate goal for students who perform excellently in their academic studies—enjoying the special attention given to them, while at the same time affirming their support for Sheikh Mohammed’s vision.

H.E. Marwan Al Sawalih, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, said: “As we honor today’s 12th grade top students, we would like to extend our gratitude to the efforts made by the Ministry’s Administrative and Technical committees; the diligent work rendered by the Ministry’s specialized departments; the school district’s various departments and divisions and the parents who have constantly interacted with their children’s respective schools to help achieve the interests of the students.”

Al Sawalih added, “Today we are honoring the top students and in doing so, we are also honoring the future. Our country deserves the best and we know that it deserves a leading place in the world map—which is now further reinforced with the continued determination to reach our goals and objectives and establishing our educational institutions to become a primary example and role model across the global education community.”

The Ministry of Education followed and adopted a set of standards and guidelines in the selection of this year’s 12th grade awardees. These standards were based on class standings and on the high ratings of scientific and educational levels attained by the students.
