Webshop tring to Make Virtual Music With BAnd

Winnipeg Business helping local bands establish online presence

May 13, 2014 - PRLog -- A Winnipeg Company is hoping to help local Manitoban bands further get their music out to the public by putting their music online for people to access.

Mark Elliott, sales manager and marketing director for Winnipeg One Stop Web Shop, says the door is open for 10 local bands to have a website built for them through their “Striking a Chord” campaign.  The sites would be fully-functioning, where musicians could display their band history, post their set list and even sell Mp3s directly to their fan-base.

“Normally a website like this would cost a couple of thousand of dollars,” Elliott said, noting Winnipeg One Stop Web Shop would be setting up these websites for only $500 each.

“Every musician needs a website,” Elliott said. “In the digital era we live in, music especially is something we come across, download and look for online all the time.  Not being online seriously hampers a band’s chance to be heard, and being heard is what writing music is all about.”
