Limitations of E­Commerce ­ Let's see if you are, you convinced with us or not ?

LUCKNOW, India - April 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Technology is a good servant but a bad master. I cannot say this surely, but there are certainly few limitations of E-Commerce.

Let is discuss first what E-Commerce is.

E-Commerce in simple terms is buying or selling commodities with the help of Internet. Since the Internet is a network of network, therefore many servers may be involved in this transaction. I cannot say this surely, but it depends upon the Internet service provider as well as the domain on which it is hosted.

If the algorithm has some glitch in programming then also there is a chance that there will be few errors in making purchases. When there is an error in the database in which records are stored, then there could be a database administration error that could lead to error in accessing the records.

Now, we come to the point where human skills are involved. Let us assume that we are buying a fabric over Internet let us say with the help of a website named XYZ. in our website ABC.com then at this stage we are not seeing the quality of fabric by our own eyes and again we are not able to judge that fabric with our God given sense called “Touch”. At this stage we are just relying on our eyes than the superior sense of touch. In this way, our judgment could go wrong. So, while purchasing anything over the Internet we are choosing something from a remote place depending upon our eyes and colour combination.

Sometimes the colours are so appealing that our eyes are deceived and we end up with purchasing something which is of inferior quality.

The world is populated by believers and non-believers of God. I will not say non-believers of God are wrong from any aspect. Unless and until we are not able to see anything as a proof of its existence there is a possibility that we may get a feeling that it does not exist. So, why I have connected this with e-commerce. Some people try to do bad things without thinking of its result(that may be called as non-believers) so if you have written your credit card or debit card details and he is able to access those details, then there is a possibility that he may put those details to buy or sell anything by someone else's money. Thus we see transaction over E-Commerce is not less safe. Though there are very few cases of fraud, but who knows you may be one of those who becomes prey to cyber crime.

We have seen that some customers have complained that they are not able to receive their consignment on time. This may be because of courier service inefficiency, but the customers usually blame that very e-commerce website from where they have purchased those items. In this way the courier service providers also have an equally important role in the smooth operation of buying and purchase.

“Hacker” is a very popular word in cyber world. There are many IT professionals who use their programming skills to know the password of other people. When they are able to know the password they can get access to the database. In this way they can do variations in tables which are involved in making that very database.

The middle class is suffering a lot to earn their bread and butter on a regular basis. They have to rely on bargaining for their needs. So, the middle class people are not able to know the margins as they have to depend upon the prices at which the company is offering them the items. This may be contradictory as they are already selling things at heavily discounted prices.

Media and advertisers are the biggest sufferers as they are not given anything for publicity.

People say we are living in an electronic age, but I will say we are living in nomadic age. Numerous people are living with no basic education. They don't have to eat either. How can we say? We have become advanced. We would not be called advanced or learned unless even single person on our planet is devoid of sufferings. At least they deserve food to eat 3 times a day.

There are certain websites which takes a lot of time in loading. Now, once you have clicked on “buy” and the next web page does not load easily then there is a possibility of data loss. I don't know what happens to that transaction in the end, but the customer remains in a position of uncertainty.

In few cases when there is error in manufacturing then the e-commerce web portals are not interested in substituting the items. They say it is not their fault. We will send it to the manufacturing plant or get it repaired but in all these processes the customer who has paid money is the ultimate sufferer.
