Follow on Google News | Web Series Weekly Wrap-Up: Long Story Short, We Shat OurselvesBy: Man of the Hour Magazine In this issue we discuss Misfits, Necessary Measures, Ricky & Lamar, Samurai Keeper Kyo, Smoke & Mirrors, The Still and The Waiting Room. Misfits: In one week, the season and the series that we all know and love will come to an end (cue the violins), and in the interest of good form, I’d like to reserve most of my thoughts for next week’s finale review. Necessary Measures: In the past I've described Necessary Measures in a general way as incoherent, but this week’s episode suggests that the more precise word is inconsistent. Ricky & Lamar: After the first two episodes of Ricky & Lamar flopped, it was forced in episode three to take the good bits from better shows and blend them together, amounting to a clumsy mingling of Pineapple Express, White Chicks, and Jimmy Tatro. Samurai Keeper Kyo: Twenty-one episodes in, SDK is well past its prime, straining to get to the finish line, and perfectly desperate. For a time, the show was amusing, even charming—but now they’re just pushing it. If the show had followed along with its original pace, SDK would’ve been over by now. Smoke and Mirrors: For the past three episodes, Sonny has given us little more than fleeting crumbs of his “past,” colored-in relationship; The Still: Looking ahead to next week’s Misfits finale (cue the violins again), I think we’ve found in The Still a proper replacement for our weekly winner. The Waiting Room: Although it pains me to write another scathing review, The Waiting Room has forced my hand. This week’s plot (cheapening the word here) circles around the story of a spoiled celebrity patient coming to the office, friends who aren’t friends getting an apartment, and then something about the doctor and his daddy issues.
