Innovation in progress @ rapidBizApps

Innovation is the goal of Hackathons, and rapidBizApps took a step forward to ‘innovate Hackathons!’ with ‘Hack 4 Better Health’ as the theme of the recent Hackathon, which was 6th in the series.

HYDERABAD, India - April 2, 2014 - PRLog -- rapidBizApps showed how the ‘app-world’ can contribute to health. The prestigious 36-hour Hackathon was organized by rapidBizApps on 25th & 26th of January 2014 with the aim of bringing together a set of enthusiastic coders to build innovative apps. Apart from the codes, snacks and drinks were also provided to satisfy their hunger ;)

In the past, evolution and revolution were the two steps taken to grow but today, both the steps are combined and fast-forwarded which we call it  “Innovation!”. Innovation is in itself an evolution and the intent of innovation is revolution – a change! Leaders of past like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs showed us the power of innovation and left ‘tomorrow’ for us to build with it.

To spread the same inspiration, rapidBizApps hosted guest-talk at the Hackathon, which stood as the highlight of the event. Mr. Ripul and Ms. Karthi were invited as the guests and Mr. Rajib was the judge for the day. Ripul and Karthi’s presentation on “The Laws of Design” created a huge impact on the participants which was reflected in their apps developed.

Rajib Ghosh is the Head of Design at DLabs. DLabs is an incubator at the Indian School of Business. Rajib is a graduate from the prestigious National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. He has always been in startup environments. He founded Studio Aum, a User Experience Design firm, and as part of that worked for Citibank, GroupOn India, EA, etc. Rajib was also Director of Design at reQall Inc., one of the first cross-platform, voice enabled memory apps. Under his design leadership, reQall's products have won multiple awards and have been featured in many publications. He helped set up the usability presence at Oracle, Hyderabad. Rajib is passionate about leveraging Design Thinking and HCD to solve tough problems and improve quality of life.

Winners, Abhilash and Chandra Sekhar said that they followed “The Laws of Design” and the suggestions given by Rajib sincerely to built the app. “Thanks rapidBizApps, for providing such a great platform to learn and build”- Abhilash. They had built an app which would reduce the difficulties in nurse-patient interaction. Their app, according to the judges was at a higher level in terms of user experience, technology and also idea.

Hackathons bring people with different ideas together to churn their brains and bring out something innovative. “We conduct Hackathons to foster innovation. Today, we have a lot of talent everywhere and all we want to do is encourage that by providing a platform to showcase it. It works the best with encouragement. This is the philosophy we follow in our company too. We have set our work-culture different and constructive. We saw more innovation working in this atmosphere. We do the same when we host a hackathon too”, said Satish Penmetsa, CEO, rapidBizApps.

Participants got involved into building apps and took it with an energy throughout the Hackathon. “I am extremely overwhelmed seeing the quality of ideas that rolled up during the hackathon. The whole process of arriving to a concrete app from the spec the participants came up with is in itself a big leap forward. The tech-world needs more leaders and we found some of them here. I am sure, they are going to be a part of the app-revolution of the future”, said Krishna Kunam, CTO, rapidBizApps.

“It is a platform not just to prove ourselves, but also to improve ourselves!” said Ajay and Pavan at the Hackathon. Sreekanth Chandrabhatla, a participant at the hackathon said, “Thanks for the wonderful platform. We had a great time with other programmers and rapidBizApps team. We rarely find such an environment in companies. The culture of the company is simply amazing. It’s a great place to learn as well .We learnt a lot from the suggestions given by Rajib when we explained our idea to him. Thanks for the Hackathon and rapidBizApps.”

The whole team of rapidBizApps have volunteered the event. “Once I attended Hackathon and stood as the winner. Now I am a part of rapidBizApps! Participation to volunteering, both the phases have been a complete enjoyment and I can say it for sure, this is only possible at rapidBizApps”, says Prudhvi Raj Pampana, previous Hackathon winner and present employee at rapidBizApps.

Hackathons of rapidBizApps are a great platform to showcase one’s talent. If you are a geek at heart but not yet participated in one, this is a right place and you must make sure that you do it next time. But be aware, there is one rule here – to innovate!
