Follow on Google News | Runway Magazine teams up with Lotus to present EVINTRA FASHION NIGHT:TorontoBy: toronto fashion night showcasing launch event at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Marking the end of Toronto Fashion Week and the beginning of a grander opulent gala touching down in Toronto in October 2014 TORONTO, ON- To celebrate the end of another season of Fashion Week, Madflower Creative Group has joined forces with Hangrz.com to launch a fashion showcase, EVINTRA FASHION NIGHT in a build up to the end of their world tour returning to Toronto in October 2014. This exclusive fashion showcase takes place on Friday, March 21st at the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Hotel and is set to be the grand finale of the 2014 Toronto Fashion Week. The red carpet sponsored by Lotus (and hosted by local socialites Megan Mane and Phillip Princeton) will commence at 9:00 pm, welcoming our city’s fashion elite. The host for the evening, Canadian supermodel Stacey McKenzie will lead VIP guests to the VIP reception sponsored by Kraken Rum and 1800 Tequila. Throughout the evening, McKenzie will introduce the showcasing designers as they present their collections. Proceeds from the event go towards partnering charity, Kids Help Phone, which offers vital, innovative, and professional counseling services to children and youth across Canada. FASHION NIGHT has been taking place in cities across the globe, including Toronto, Barcelona, Johannesburg, and Istanbul, and is currently planned for Dubai, Kenya, and Paris, bringing its unique fusion of fashion enthusiasts, artistic directors and renowned creative muses of fashion together. This edition of FASHION NIGHT marks the beginning of a variety of summer long events which will all come together for a spectacular gala and fashion show during Fashion Week in the fall, that Toronto has never experienced. "The first FASHION NIGHT in Toronto was a huge success and a great boost to the city, exceeding all expectations of attendees,” said Andreas Thölken, CEO and Founder of EVINTRA. “ This year we're taking the event in stages, teaming up with Hangrz.com and Madflower Creative Group for the second time to bring a series of events instead of one. With all proceeds going towards Kids Help Phone, we've set the bar even higher." “We are ecstatic to be assisting with such a great cause and creating numerous events. The goal this year is to create economic growth in the Canadian fashion industry, while bringing awareness to a great cause and Toronto fashion. We have huge talent here in Toronto but it only seems to be supported on a local level for 95% of Toronto fashion designers. We would like to bring Toronto fashion back to the international forum that it deserves!” says Paul Sidhu, Chief Financial Officer of Hangrz.com. FASHION NIGHT is also excited to be featuring the first-ever use of EvntBeam, a Toronto-born, brand new social enterprise which uses AppBeacon technology to enrich your experience throughout the event. By downloading the EvntBeam app, a dashboard with a simple and easy to use interface provides individually tailored information, including instant messages, offers, contests and new ways to connect with your favorite brands. Guest who download the app will have the chance to win fantastic spot prizes that are up for grabs. This FASHION NIGHT is showcasing designers with a twist; instead of a conventional catwalk fashion show, the living mannequin models will walk among the crowds, taking to their podiums while still allowing the guests to get up close and personal with the garments. Each designer brings a separate element: Angela DeMontigny expresses a zeal of native culture and heritage with an edgy and sophisticate collection using traditional bead-work and motifs. Evan Yanagi couture gowns exudes utter elegance with classic beauty while keeping with her Asian traditions. VIGGO experiments with a fusion between art and fashion, allowing the owner to make a bold statement, when they wear the painting they once had on their wall. Rising star and international FASHION NIGHT Tour DJ, Fizza will lead the night’s entertainment, taking to the decks performing an electro-improv set with superstar violinist Sarah Davidson-Gurney and other top local performers. Toronto's Marco Bongo will also grace the stage alongside Fizza to energize the crowd into an unforgettable after-party sponsored by Frequency Entertainment, marking the end of 2014 Toronto Fashion Week. Guests will be treated to an exclusive peek of the latest accessories by Angela DeMontigny, RisKandy, Ms. Hair Extensions, Evan Yanagi and Royalz Clothing in the Accessories Lounge. A silent auction will run throughout the night including art pieces from Sevan Gallery and local artist Ivana Janjic. Tickets are available online now at www.torontofashionnight.ca, and at various outlets in the GTA.
