The AquaCurean Festival Brings Gourmet Seafood & Spirits to Savannah

Feb. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Epicureans throughout the coastal Georgia and Lowcountry region should mark their calendars for April 25 through April 27. That’s when the AquaCurean Gourmet Seafood & Spirits Festival will take place at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa. This exciting three-day culinary event, sponsored by Audi Hilton Head (http://www.audihiltonhead.com/our-history/), will feature some of the finest seafood and handcrafted spirits from Savannah and across the country.

This looks to be an exciting weekend for everyone who appreciates great seafood and artful mixology, and it will be a wonderful opportunity to raise funds to help the Savannah Harbor Foundation’s support of local children’s charities. The Foundation’s volunteer board and staff host many fundraising events throughout the year, including the Savannah Harbor Foundation Golf Classic and the Festival of Lights.

The AquaCurean weekend will feature a variety of events, but the highlight is expected to be the AquaCurean Challenge, which consists of two competitions: the Seafood Challenge and the Cocktail Challenge.

In the Seafood Challenge, competitors will submit their freshwater fish, saltwater fish, shrimp, or shellfish recipes; the Cocktail Challenge features handcrafted cocktail recipes in 5 categories: vodka, gin, tequila, bourbon, and rum. Professional judges will determine the winners in both competitions, while online voting will name a “People’s Choice” winner.

To register for the AquaCurean Challenge, interested parties should email info@aquacurean.com. Online registration will be available from Feb. 15 through Friday, March 21. The AquaCurean website (http://www.aquacurean.com/) is scheduled to be launched on Feb. 15. Tickets for all of the weekend events, as well as competition registration, will be available on the website.

Advance ticket pricing will be available until Monday, March 31. Tickets can be purchased at the regular price from April 1 to April 24, or at the door during the weekend if any tickets remain.
