Nov. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Woodlands business owner and PODS® Houston’s (http://www.pods.com/houston.aspx) Managing Partner Phil Dvorak, will be honored for his avid support of the Houston Fire Department (HFD) with the its “Neighborhood Heroes Award” on Thursday, Nov. 14.

Dvorak was awarded for his continuous donations of the moving (http://www.pods.com/houston_moving.aspx) and storage (http://www.pods.com/houston_storage.aspx) company’s safe and secure PODS® containers for HFD’s annual Operation Stocking Stuffer toy drives for the past two years, with the storage containers serving as collection points for toy donations. This year, he has committed to doubling the amount PODS® containers donated and transported from last year. Dvorak also will be recognized for his monetary donations to fallen firefighters’ families.

Dvorak makes giving back to Houston a crucial party of his philosophy of running a successful business. Since introducing the moving and storage company to Houston in 2003, PODS Houston has donated hundreds of PODS® containers to help local non-profits, schools, churches, community events and businesses’ logistical needs, saving organizations thousands in moving and storage costs. This year, PODS Houston became the official partner for Houston Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builds program, providing deserving families with moving and storage services at no cost. To date, PODS Houston has donated its services to 13 families and plans to continue working closely with Habitat for Humanity in the coming months to ensure families are home for the holidays.

Additional non-profits PODS Houston has supported include The Salvation Army, The Woodlands High School, Chevron Houston Marathon, Houston Arts Alliance, Katy Independent School District, YMCA and Toys for Tots.

“I believe the keys to PODS success are: hard work, a great team, outstanding customer service and giving back to the community through donated services. These are the seeds that will grow our business well into the future,” Dvorak explains.
