AGROAM Releases SMS Service in Nigeria for Farmers and Updates Platform

Nov. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- AGROAM today released the latest expansion of its AGROAM platform. By expanding it's SMS capabilities to Nigeria, AGROAM has access to tens of millions of new farmers. With one fifth of the entire population of Africa, if we can start making an impact there, the ramifications can be felt throughout the continent" says Managing Director Anthony Connor.

AGROAM will now provide Nigerian users with three functions via SMS. The first will allow users to check crowd-sourced product prices, the second sends a bid on behalf of the user throughout the entire system, and the third gives contact information of potential buyers in the area - all for the cost of a premium SMS.

"Our online userbase already has a very active Nigerian community, so speeding up our development by several months made sense. Many users in Nigeria have been benefiting from our free online services, we hope they'll continue to find value in our SMS service for when they don't have access to a computer, but still require marketing services".

Additionally, AGROAM updated its platform to allow users to have multiple crops per profile. Instead of being limited to only one crop per profile, AGROAM now allows its users to select up to three crops per profile.

More tools will be added over the coming months, from marketing tools to financial planning tools, in order to continue to allow smallhold farmers to strengthen their capacities. AGROAM will also focus on opening its SMS tools across Latin America and Africa continuously throughout 2014.
