Don’t be Left Out in the Cold! Deepa Berar gives her Top 3 Trends for the Hottest Looks for Fall 2

TORONTO - Sept. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- While the “W” word (winter) gives me the chills, we have a lot to look forward to is fall. This year’s warmer colours and simple techniques will let you update your look and make you Glow! And the best part is you can get a stand-out look by adding only a few new items to your make-up bag, for not a lot of money.  Here are the three hottest makeup trends, straight from the runway.

1.       The Deconstructed Smokey Eye:

While the smokey eye is always a popular look, this one takes a modern twist with the deconstructed finish. The trick is in the application, and it’s a lot easier than you would think.  Use an eyeshadow primer first to hold the look in place. Most lines now carry chubby eyeshadow pencils, my personal favorite is the Soft Touch Shadow pencil by Nars. Using that, fill the eyelid in and either with a blending brush or your finger, smudge and blend the color up into the crease of your eye. And voila, the deconstructed smokey eye! Yes it really is that simple.

2.       Bye Bye Red! Go for Dark Stained Lips.

The second trend which is also a fall/winter favorite is the dark stained lip. While red has been the “it” color for the past few years, this season’s color has a deep twist to it. Burgundy or maroon tones are the ones to opt for. Use a darker tone like Shard by Illamasqua. You can either apply it as a stain by blotting it onto the lips and blending with your finger or as full color with a deep lipliner.

3.       Get the Glow.

The final trend off the runways is fresh, dewy skin. Shimmer has come a long way from the chunky glitter of yesterday. We now have lightweight products with a pearlescent finish, like MAC’s luster drops which you can either mix into your foundation or apply directly to give your skin that natural looking glow.  Divide a drop on your forefingers or sponge and apply to the top of your cheek bone, across from your eye, and gently blend it down along your cheek bone. Less is more here.
