RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - July 17, 2013 - PRLog -- The program turns up within Ebsar rehabilitation programs for employing visually impaired people in private sector.

The joint-program first phase which includes 15 visually disabled people identified their functional positions in Al Rabie branches Kingdom wide keeping pace with “Tawafuq”, the scheme to employ people with special needs, in Ministry of Labor to promote the employment of disabled people through two-year training of candidates on proposed careers by the company. Named careers are telephone operators; human resources specialists and recruitment specialists have been identified within Al Rabie branches in Riyadh, Jeddah, Abha, Buraidah, Madinah and Ha’el.

Professor Mohamed Tawfiq Bello, the secretary-general of Ebsar and member of “Tawafuq” stated that Ebsar began qualifying and nominating visually impaired male and female Saudis who are registered in the Society, stressing that Al Rabie Saudi Foods Co. and within its social responsibility continues to create jobs for disabled people, including appropriate jobs for visually impaired people of both sexes.

Bello pointed out that, the program opening hosted a meeting with Dr. Sirr Feraz Khan consultant of visually impaired, in which he talked about visual impairment and characterization of visual aids. During the meeting, employees had the chance to go through initial sight evaluation; besides, a number of staff had clinical examination and were prescribed the appropriate visual aids helpful for their occupation performance.

The new staff had a tour in Ebsar departments; attended a lecture on technology support in their career, qualifying them to join movement, safe orientation and rehabilitation practice program to use white cane. Nevertheless, they also attended a workshop on free work culture in cooperation with the Centennial Fund, and had an overview on Braille.

Bello pointed out that visually impaired staff will continue their qualifying program that copes with company requirements including computer skills, job development skills, English language, learning Braille, customer service skills, self-management, interaction and social integration. In addition, using adjustment support equipment in everyday life, home and personal skills, development of scientific and cultural information and developing positive attitudes to staff and teamwork, adding to this, the psychological and social assessment, and the concept of work and steps to receive a job.

It is noteworthy that Ebsar Society for the Rehabilitation of the Visually Impairedis open for cooperation with a number of private sector companies to achieve wish of some of the visually impaired people to enroll in jobs offered by the private sector within the programs of Ministry of Labor to hire disabled people after being rehabilitated through a number of programs appropriate to their disability.
