DELHI, India - July 14, 2013 - PRLog -- The Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) had come up with the proposition of two Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in the Zone L of West Delhi. Having already been given the green signal by the BOA (Board of Approval), the forthcoming meeting of the land and concerned authorities will take the issue forward.

The SEZs have been set up for two separate industries - Gems & Jewellery and Information Technology (IT). The idea behind these is to overcome the shortcomings experienced on account of the multiplicity of controls and clearances; absence of world-class infrastructure and unstable fiscal regime. SEZs are primarily designed to export goods and provide employment. With this objective, the Zone L SEZs will intend to provide employment to an estimated 1 lac people.

To add to its numerous advantages, the Information Technology (IT) sector of the SEZ would have social amenities, utilities and specialized infrastructure, incorporating halls, hotels, hospitals and residential accommodation.

Zone L is seen as an ideal area for these projects are there are no space related problems. The area is congestion-free, has an abundance of natural resources and according to some claims, has posted increased water levels. In addition to this, the Government’s efforts to introduce a network of wide interconnected roads and introduction of a new Metro Line, will allow seamless connectivity to other parts of Delhi.

Delhi Master Plan expert, Certes Realty (http://www.certesrealty.com) states, “apart from providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and access to a large well-trained and skilled workforce, the SEZs of Zone L will also provide enterprises and developers with a favorable and attractive framework of incentives”.

The meeting planned for later this week by the land and concerned authorities will discuss the possibility of more SEZs in other zones to replicate the good work conducted in Zone L.
