CHENNAI, India - July 12, 2013 - PRLog -- The exceptional Author Incubation Program from Notion Press has been a boon to writers who have the gift of the pen with their works deserving to go in print. This book throws light on the author’s personal opinions on the religious institution of marriage from a Christian’s point of view.

Can a Christian Marry, Divorce and Remarry? by Devaprakash R. Shampur looks into an elementary question the answer to which does not require much of deliberate thought. Anyone who happens to come across this question will not think before replying in the affirmative.

If the answer to the question, that makes the title of this book, is so easy to decipher, then what is there in the book for readers to know? The answer to the question is ‘yes’ but only in accordance with what Jesus Christ had prescribed. The Old Testament describes the norms that Moses had laid down keeping the moral considerations in purview. They were the norms of behavior and moral responsibility before Christ.

However, rules get misinterpreted with time and often misused as well like it was the case of Jews taking undue advantage of the privileges given to them by law. Things came to a head and Christ had to toughen his stand on the responsibilities that come along with the institution of marriage. When a man and a woman join together by marriage, it is a serious commitment and the author tries to throw light on the teachings of Christ with regard to this bond that hopefully should last a lifetime if things go right.

The book is a sincere attempt to bring the attention of the reader on the misunderstood concepts of marriage. For this he makes references to the Holy Bible and makes observations on the lives of Christ’s disciples. He delves deep into the marital relationship between a man and a woman to convey his purport from the Biblical perspective.

With chapters on marriage, Apocryphal books of the NT, the Apostolic Fathers, Divorce, Remarriage and Conclusion, the book is well structured and gives plenty of knowledge to the reader on the responsibility of marital relationships. The observations of the author are derived out of his extensive study of Jesus Christ’s principles and teachings that impel the reader look on the moral side.

Devaprakash R. Shampur is a retired Principal and Professor of Mechanical Engineering. Besides his literary capabilities in the field of education, he is also a very good writer. Shampur is extremely observational and likes to perceive the deeper aspects of things in the day to day life and give his well-thought out conclusions on them.

Notion Press has once again proved its mettle as an incredible publishing platform that acknowledges the efforts of good writers and gives them an opportunity to showcase their talent to the world.
