May 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Irvine-based Vacion produces a range of systems that can be used to take the kind of tracking shots that are a staple of movies. They can move the cameras from left to right or take shots that pan up and down.

The range includes a 0.5m metre slider fitted with a mobile phone mount, which the company says can be carried in a rucksack.

The company has recorded its first sales of CineLite and CineLite Ultra models, aimed at the amateur market, allowing photographers and film-makers to bring professional quality work to smaller devices such as iPhones.

It has also taken advance orders for its CineTrack and CineTough, hard anodised rail and carriage units for professional video production, designed to meet the exacting demands of on-location shooting.

Both products, manufactured in the UK using German technology, incorporate a unique, self-lubricating bearing system to ensure the carriage is durable as it has no moving parts that will stick or jam.

The company has several innovative new products in development, including one it describes as a “world’s first”.

With slider tracks retailing at £75-£450, it has the capacity to produce 3000 units per month and expects sales both online through its dedicated website (http://vacion.com/) and via wholesale trade. It predicts a turnover of £500,000 in its first year of operation, rising to £2m at the end of year two.

Vacion’s founder and managing director Kevin Priestley, whose fabrication business NPI Solutions manufactured slider tracks for another UK-based company, said: “We produced all of its products for more than two years but it opted not to develop new models, preferring to promote its bestselling units with very little technical advancement.

“As we had invested so much time and accumulated so much market knowledge, we decided we could take these products to the next level with our own designs. We have a full, in-house design and manufacture facility allowing us to innovate and launch into the market in very short time frames.”

All Vacion products are upgradable so that anything a customer purchases can be built upon rather than having to buy a completely new unit to gain the latest design innovation or improvement, says Priestley.

“We intend to concentrate sales within the UK and the United States although the rest of the world will not be ignored. We know, from past experience, that these two market places like the technology and have purchased products that we manufactured for our former client.”

He added: “We are one of only two companies globally to be producing these products at such a level and we expect to be able to sell across the board from professionals and semi-professionals to keen amateurs.

“The CineTough is a clear contender for the professional and semi-professional markets, while the CineTrack is slightly lighter weight and suitable for standard weight equipment such as digital SLR or digital camcorders.

CineLite and CineLite Ultra are for smartphones or lightweight, digital film recorders easily transported, fitting easily into a backpack or similar. Present contenders for this market are expensive and many fail to deliver the quality standard expected from the level of expenditure while the price prohibits a low budget spend customer.”
