Omnix International opens ‘Autodesk University Extension Dubai 2012’

Middle East’s largest CAD event featured key talks from leading Autodesk experts to help design professionals improve skill and enhance productivity

Dec. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Omnix International, the authorized distributor for Autodesk products in Middle East, successfully opened ‘Autodesk University (AU) Extension Dubai 2012,’ the Middle East region’s first-of-its-kind largest CAD event, today (December 6, 2012) at the Sheikh Maktoum Hall of the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event, which is part of the Autodesk University program, an annual series of Autodesk in-person and virtual user conferences, featured leading Autodesk technical evangelist Lynn Allen and top Autodesk official Nick Manning. Brought in part by Fujitsu (Platinum Sponsor), Canon Middle East (Gold Sponsor), Adobe, Acer, Lenovo (Silver Sponsor), ‘Autodesk University (AU) Extension Dubai 2012’ was attended by more than 400 design professionals who use CAD solutions across engineering, construction, architecture, animation, manufacturing and infrastructure industries.

Lynn Allen, who is known across IT circles as a leading cadalyst columnist, talked on the topic, ‘Autodesk 360 – Embrace the Cloud.’ Allen’s presentation aimed at clearing misconceptions about the cloud and also showcased the latest Autodesk 360 and BIM 360 cloud offerings, which are certain to improve today’s design experience. Meanwhile, Nick Manning, Senior Manager, Global Field Marketing for Media & Entertainment, Autodesk, took the notch up higher with his topic, ‘Telling the story of your design to win business.’ Manning’s talk and discussion session looked towards helping participants gain more knowledge on the possibilities of telling the story of your design with products contained in the Autodesk family of suites. Companies represented during the event include WS Atkins, Saudi Bin Ladin, Brookfield Multiplex,­­­­­ Al Futtaim Carillion, Arab Engineering Bureau - Qatar, GASCO, ADGAS, Ajman Municipality, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Robert Bird Group, Al Habtoor Leighton, Godwin Austin Johnson, Arif & Bintoak, Ted Jacobs, Keo Consultants.
