Abu Dhabi, UAE, 14th November 2012: Al Ayam, the monthly entertainment magazine, will be re-launched as a multi-focus title in the UAE. The company expects the move to increase circulation from 20,000 to 30,000, in a bid to fight against an increasingly digital media marketplace. The group has recently launched some social media accounts to sit alongside its online presence.

The publication, which will replace the old version, will be given away at some key spots throughout the UAE, the GCC and the whole Arabic region.

The magazine will target readers "at key cultural institutions, arts venues, cafes, boutiques and shops", and aims to capture the success of Abu Dhabi's title, which adopted a unique model in 2012.


"Al Ayam is an inspiration for us," said Dar Al Ayam managing director Ahmed Al Shamsi. "It was a fantastic brand that everyone knew, they tweaked the editorial and it's now a quality title that everyone reads."

Al Ayam Magazine was first published in 1969 with a print run of just 1,000 copies. It has since has grown to cover specific to global cities including the GCC, concentrating on news on politics, community, poetry, film, music, theatre, art, shopping, sport, health, autos, luxurious gear and lifestyle.

“More than 70pc of readers were positive about the re-launch of a multi-focus entertainment monthly magazine for Arabic region, and the majority of people thought Dar Al Ayam was the best publisher to provide it,” Hassan Soukar, head of editorial & social media at Dar Al Ayam, said.
