Tigo Mama Africa Circus opens to the public

Sept. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- In an all-new-choreographed production, Tigo Mama Africa Circus will leave their audiences sitting on the edge of their seats as they revel in front-row entertainment.  

Starting from Friday, September 28, 2012 up through Sunday, November 4, 2012, the much anticipated circus to showcase at Mancom Centre, New World Cinema Grounds in Mwenge, will open its doors to a spectacular feast lined up with compelling events and programmes interwoven into 18 acts of song, dance (traditional & contemporary), juggling, contortionism, balancing acts, aerial acts, pyramid acts, pole acts and much more.

“We are very proud of the continuous success of Mama Africa Circus over the years,” said Alice Maro, Tigo Public Relations Officer. “This year’s show will not only be one of the most well attended events, but it will be one that celebrates and supports art and culture in Tanzania, which we hope will encourage other members of our community to do the same,” she said.

Tickets are now on sale to the general public and can only be purchased from the ticket office at Mancom Centre inside the New World Cinema Grounds in Mwenge. Upon seat selection, audiences will find a seating chart which includes price categories to guide them on selecting their desired price category and the number of tickets they wish to purchase. Ticket prices start from Tsh 10,000 and show timings are 3:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., five times per week.

Created in 2003 as an underground acrobatic school by founder, producer and director, Mr. Winston Ruddle, Mama Africa Circus has grown into a platform for showcasing Africa’s most notable acrobatic talent, including the world renowned ‘Hakuna Matata Acrobats.’ It has produced more than 150 acrobats and dancers from Tanzania and other African countries who have gone to perform in over 1,200 shows across the world.

Additionally, Tigo is continuing with its network expansion programme, whereby they have invested a total of US $100 million this year alone to upgrade its services and install new base stations nationwide. This material investment will increase network capacity, improve coverage and enhance users’ experience. Access to the Internet will be more widely available in the country and users will experience faster connection speeds.
