By: Raffaella Becchina / Dilek PR With his debut full length "Dark Matters" album now complete, the world is really turning into Kramnik’s oyster as he releases this much-anticipated LP on his very own Kram Records. The list of artists who’ve agreed to remix the album speaks for itself: Timo Maas, Hernan Cattaneo & Martin Garcia, Nick Warren, Ben Sims, Gabriel Ananda, Franco Bianco & Mike Wall, SQL and Hans Bouffmyhre, all divided inside two smashing EP's which will be released before the entire album. Let's explore "Dark Matters Remixes Vol. 2", it includes two reworks of 'Mongolium' by Timo Maas and Nick Warren, an incredible cut of progressive tech energy that builds up with the wild flogging of a bass drum, shaded by droning Mongolian throat singers. Timo Maas has the more hectic mix of the two, keeping it dancefloor friendly with the driving bass, using a flash of the throat singers only in the breakdown. On the flip side, Nick Warren tosses out a more laidback, melodic track, focused on tuneful synth notes. Also on this EP is yet another 'Viclone' remix, this one from Hans Bouffmyhre who takes on the hard prog feel of the original track with punching bass the whole way through, seguing quickly into elevated bpm with cymbal kicks and shadowy synths adding the atmospheric 5am vibe of this doublepack effort. Finally, there’s a remix of 'M1' by SQL, an end of the night stomper and a serious epic of a track that time out in the middle for a bass drum to relentlessly beat a tribal edge. Sci-fi synth effects whir on the outer edges in a slow build-up for the breakdown into a deep techy bassline. The first part "Dark Matters Remixes Volume 1" launches on September 20th, and the second part a month later, on October 20th.
