Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary

This is also known as the Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most renowned wildlife sanctuary of not only India but south India as well, located Locate in the scenic ambiance of the Western Ghats hills in the state of Kerala. It covers an area of about 777 sq km and The Periyar Wildlife sanctuary was declared a tiger reserve in the year 1978.

The greatest attraction of this National park is the herd of elephants that can easily be seen near Periyar Lake while they come to play in water. This park is superbly decked with lot of flora and fauna and house different species of animals like: Asian Elephants, Tigers, Nilgiri Langurs, Wild Boars, Gaurs, Sambars, Lion-tailed Macaques, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Stripe-necked Mongoose, Wild Dogs, Sloth Bears and Malabar Giant Squirrel etc.

Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary

Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over in an area of 108 Sq.km this hill forest has thick growth of trees and a number of topography About 800 species of Indian flora are sprinkled here. This wildlife sanctuary is also known to produce some valuable species of trees which are commonly used in making medicines for human use.

The herbs of this forest is used to heel from different sort of diseases beside the park harbors vary species of animals and birds  Langur, Nilgiri Langur, Malabar Giant squirrel, Grizzled giant Squirrel, Tiger, Panther, Elephant, Gaur, Pangolin, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Dhole, Sloth Bear, Porcupine, Civet Cat and Toddy Cat. The birds of this particular region are Racket Tailed Drongo, Black Headed Oriole, Paradise Flycatcher, Black Eagle, Fiary Blue Bird and green Billed Malkhoha etc.

Vallanadu Blackbuck Sanctuary

Vallanadu Blackbuck Sanctuary is a scrub forest that is extended in an area of 16.41 sq km. This is located in the Thoothukudi District the extreme southeastern corner of Tamil Nadu. The city is also known as the “Pearl City”. The land of this park is sprinkled with dissimilar species of animal as well as plants. It preserves numerous species of animals such as Blackbuck, Spotted Deer, Macaques, Jungle cat, Mongoose.
