The theme of the event will be Canadian Cloud technology innovation, entrepreneurship and commercialization – and how its success or failure will play a major impact on Canadian economic development and its global competitive position. The conference will focus on three major key focus areas: The Business of Cloud Computing, Cloud Transformation Best Practices, and The Case for Government Cloud Computing. Sir Terry Matthews, Chairman of Wesley Clover and David Nicholl, CIO of Government of Ontario are opening the event, which is proudly sponsored by Canadian Cloud Council members: Mitel, Wesley Clover and IBM.
"Canada has been one of the slowest nations to adopt cloud computing and has not yet built an effective ecosystem to deliver collaborative value through shared cloud technology services. As a result, the country is quickly losing its global competitive advantage to other nations that have more assertively invested in and commercialized cloud infrastructure and technology,"
"We plan on tackling this critical issue head-on and leaving this conference with a clearly defined action plan related to the acceleration of public sector collaboration, ecosystem development, technology commercialization and ultimately Canadian cloud adoption," concluded Hart.
