The month long event, which will be held alongside the Star Sponsored Osun Osogbo Festival, will see consumers of the brand enjoying performances from various musical artistes as well as winning fantastic prizes, courtesy of Star lager beer.
Explaining the concept behind the Star Beer Village, Omotunde Adenusi, Brand Manager – Star, Nigerian Breweries Plc., stated that the activation was conceived to give consumers of Star, a unique experience. “The Star Village is actually a place where people are going to enjoy the unique experience of Star. Star is a brand that engenders excitement, fun and connectivity amongst friends. It is an opportunity for old friends to meet and people to make new friends. That is what the Star Beer village is all about,” he explained.
Adenusi stated that this year’s edition of the Osun Osogbo Star Beer Village was a special one for Star, given that the beer brand was recently repackaged. “As part of its growing process, Star’s label was recently redesigned and the accompanying ceremony was elaborate. This year’s edition of the Star Village is going to be special because consumers are going to enjoy the new look Star at this very unique festival” he said.
According to Adenusi, the activation has become an integral part of the Osun Osogbo celebrations:
He further added that the event will see people walking away with fantastic prizes in raffle draws. He remarked: “We are going to be giving away many prizes like DVDs, live cow, generating set, TV and so on. So you can see that the audience is in for a nice time.”
Speaking on the Osun Osogbo festival, Mr. Adenusi stated that Star’s sponsorship of the festival, which has spanned 27 years, is an indication of the special bond with the people of Osogbo and its environs. “Star’s involvement with the Osun Osogbo Festival is one that has evolved over time. For 27 years we have had the privilege of being associated with a prestigious international festival like the Osun Osogbo Festival.
