June 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Designer Gaurang is working with a team of highly talented handloom weavers across India in a bid to revive the elegance and captivating beauty of traditional handlooms, weaves, created using Jamdani technique with pure zari on cottons and silks.

Their mainstream popularity is waning. But, as the saying goes, what's old is new again.
Gaurang will be off to Berlin in July to showcase his spring summer collection at the Mercedes Benz fashion Week, Berlin. He is the only Indian designer this season who has been invited to showcase in Lavera Showfloor at Kosmos on 5th of july which is one of the biggest eco and sustainable fashion show in the world.

Designer Gaurang has been promoted by Eurasia- a fashion and event management firm from Berlin. Thereby he is going to present a collection of 24 outfits including 3 saris and 21 Indo-western attires. This collection is going to offer the best mélange of India and the west with its unique outfits and patterns using our very own handloom fabrics of khadis, kotas and organzas and exhibiting the finest of jamdani weave and parsi embroidery.

"Sari’s are an irresistible part of Indian Woman. They love wearing them," says Designer Gaurang. "We are bringing back Khadi Sari with a modern twist." Sari is timeless, classic look that woman just can’t ignore, whether it is a marriage of social do. Gaurang added.

GAURANG is an avid exponent of varied textures and rich borders in the weaves. Be it a cotton saree with a silk border or a muga tussar border with a khadi body, the creations are an enchanting fusion of tradition and craftsmanship. Different types of yarns like dupion, jute, muga, noil adorned by gold and silver zari are used for the design weaves whereas, eco friendly and natural dyes from various fruits and leaves enrich the enchanting range of the creations.

Gaurang says saris have traditionally been worn with small borders, but our effort is to show women wearing them with big borders retain the natural colour of Khadi and blend it with nature like birds, leaves and flowers.
