COFRAC Accreditation ISO 17025 Received by SGS France for Juvenile Product Testing

On January 15, 2012, SGS France became COFRAC certified in the physical and mechanical testing of juvenile products.
 
May 18, 2012 - PRLog -- With over 1,350 laboratories and offices around the world, SGS is a multinational company which provides inspection, verification, testing and certification services to companies across the globe. SGS’s dedicated office in France has recently announced that its laboratory in Aix en Provence, France, dealing exclusively with juvenile products and childcare articles, has been accredited ISO 17025 by COFRAC according to the standard NF EN ISO /CEI 17025 within the Program N°153.  This program encompasses the physical and mechanical tests for Changing Units (NF EN 12221), Children’s cots and folding cots for domestic use (NF EN 716), Cribs (NF EN 1130), High Chairs (NF EN 14988), and Playpens (NF EN 12227). ISO/IEC 17025 general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories is the main ISO standard used by testing and calibration laboratories. It is also the basis for accreditation from an accreditation body.

The full scope of the SGS accreditation n°1-2196 (applicable) is available on the COFRAC website (http://www.cofrac.fr/). Thanks to the COFRAC accreditation, SGS is now able to offer a comprehensive range of services for the juvenile products industry. These services include, but are not limited to, physical testing, flammability testing, materials testing, chemical testing, labeling verification, packaging tests and REACH compliance.
