Exotic Tourism of Semarang Old City

Grejo Blenduk is one of important icon of Semarang, especially old city. Because when we talked about Old City, we must remember about Grejo Blenduk. People said: “You haven’t gone to Semarang if you haven’t watched Grejo Blenduk”. Grejo Blenduk name came from the church roof which has ‘blenduk’ (half-circle) shape, different with common churches which its vault has prism shape.  

Tawang Station of Semarang
This region used to be attacked by flood. But now, it’s a bit handled. Tawang Station of Semarang is the main train station in Tanjung Mas, North Semarang which served executive and business trains. Economy train didn’t drop by in this station. This station is the biggest and oldest station after Gudang Station of Semarang and inaugurated in July 19th 1868 for Tawang Semarang to Tanggung. This line has 1435 mm width. In 1873, this line is extended to Balapan Station of Solo and continued to Lempuyangan Station of Yogyakarta.

Lawang Sewu
Probably Lawang Sewu is already familiar in your ear. The place which in the past functioned as the center of train management in Dutch government become important icon of Semarang city and has incredible attraction for foreign and domestic tourists, especially Semarang youth communities. Lawang Sewu used to be visited in weekend and celebration day. The visitors are dominated by Semarang youth in the weekend.
