GETEX Spring 2012 receives enthusiastic feedback from exhibitors, visitors

Leading universities underline strategic importance of GETEX in building brand recognition in Middle East

GETEX Spring 2012 successfully concluded a comprehensive showcase of over 2,500 academic, vocational and training programmes, gathering more than 400 leading academic institutions worldwide and over 30,000 visitors for the three-day exhibition at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 19 to 21, 2012. Organized under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education, GETEX 2012 was warmly received by government entities, corporate organizations, academic institutions, students and parents from the Middle East, underlining the growing focus on education, training and professional development initiatives across the region.

GETEX 2012, which is recognized as the Middle East’s leading education, training and professional development event, likewise generated an overwhelming response from local, regional and international universities, academic institutions and training organizations, emphasizing the strategic importance of GETEX as an ideal networking avenue to showcase quality educational programs being offered worldwide.

Dr. T.R. Venkatesh, Academic Head at Amity University, said: “More than reaching our goals, GETEX has helped us in allowing parents and students reach their goals. We want them to discover what they are interested in and what they like the most in terms of their aptitude. GETEX has helped in serving this purpose twice over.”

Several leading universities and academic institutions likewise noted and credited the impact of GETEX in their brand strategy and in cultivating strong relations with target audiences, particularly parents and corporate organizations across the region.

Jules Fawkes, Head of Faculty and English Teacher at Canada International College, said: “GETEX Spring 2012 helped us reach our goal in targeting students who want to enter our college here or travel abroad to Canada. It has increased public awareness of our college in the region and helped in our marketing strategy through advertising our university.”

K. Rajesh Shetty, Assistant Professor at Electronics & Communication Engineering, NMAM Institute of Technology, said: “Our institute has been taking part in GETEX since 2006. The quality of the event speaks for itself and over the years the event has helped us establish and build a brand name. It has enabled us to build an excellent rapport with the parents, some of them being in touch with us since our first meeting six years ago.”

Fouad Ahmed, Admission Officer, at Al Ghurair University said, “GETEX is one the biggest education events in the region and has enabled us to interact with hundreds of parents and students, especially since the event is held over a weekend.
