Wearable Liner for Separating Systems

We have applied Casted SiC, a very wearbale but cost-saving SiC grade to make liners for such separating facilities as Hydtrocyclone Desanders.

April 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Centrifugal separation has been widely used in industrial separating process esp. in separating solid from liquid. Today, the wearing against the separating facilities is the top chanllenge to the operator. Therefore, we have applied Casted SiC, a very wearbale but cost-saving SiC grade to make liners for such separating facilities as Hydtrocyclone Desanders. Hydrocyclone desanders work as a result of pressure differences in the slurry which generates centrifugal forces which causes rotational motion of the fluid. This in turn causes the dense sand particles to separate from the less dense liquid. The rotational flow of the abrasive sand results in severe abrasion of the hydrocyclone. This can be alleviated by lining the hydrocylone with an abrasion resistant ceramics like Casted SiC.
