New Book Finds the Funny in First Dates

Lawrence Fisher refuses to give up on his search for a soul mate

March 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Tel Aviv, Israel – The success of the romantic comedy genre proves that relationships remain one of the most enduring subjects in popular culture, but the large majority of those movies – films like “What’s Your Number” or “Friends With Benefits” – are marketed towards women. With the release of his new book Kill Me Now!: A Middle Aged Man’s Maneuvers through the Frontline of the Dating Battlefield, author Lawrence Fisher offers the male half of popular culture a glimpse into the male perspective on dating.

Fisher writes, “I found that I knew nothing about dating and did not understand women. I met weird women and had some weird experiences. I found that in each experience I could find the humor.” That humor resulted in a successful blog, and that blog became Kill Me Now!

Fisher’s experiences will be familiar to any man who’s uncomfortable in the dating scene. He uses his humor to infuse each story with a bit of truth wrapped in entertainment, which helps the reader invest in the anecdote.

“Many guys do not know how to pick up a woman or what to say to her,” Fisher says. “Many guys do not understand signals, hints or innuendos. Many guys sit at home or with their friends wondering what to do.” It is to both entertain such men and to help them find the confidence to get off of their couch or off of the barstool that Fisher penned Kill Me Now!

“If a reader reads the book and realizes that instead of feeling sorry for himself, he can pick himself up and try again, then I will be happy.”
