Feb. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Video Games remain a very popular source for entertainment,  according to the National Media Analysis “NMA” study conducted by Ipsos Jordan on Bi-annual basis, as it  shows that almost One out of Four Jordanians over the age of 15 play Video Games. Most Jordanian video gamers “66 percent” fall in the age group of 15 to 24 years old, where almost 22 percent came in from the age group of 25 to 34, followed by 8 percent coming from the age group of 35 to 44, and finally the Age Groups from 45 to 54 & players aged over 55 landed in the fourth and fifth places with 3 percent and 1 percent respectively.
The vast majority “49 percent” of video games players live in Amman; 13 percent of which live in West Amman and 36 percent of which live in other parts of Amman. Al Zarqa came in second place with 19 percent of video gamers, while Irbid and the remaining governorates of Jordan had 12 percent and 20 percent of Jordanian video game players respectively.

 
Personal Computers Gaming still controls the Gaming Industry, compared to TV Connected Gaming Consoles; 67% VS 33%
Personal Computers still emerge as the most popular console to play video games where almost 67 percent of video gamers play using PCs, whereas only 33 percent of video gamers play using TV connected gaming consoles; Within the TV Connected Gaming Consoles category, PS2 landed in the first place with 24 percent, followed by PS3 with 10 percent, PS1 & Xbox 360 coming after that.  PSP & Nintendo consoles had minor shares.


Sports & Action are the most popular video game genres
Sports & Action topped the list of most popular video game genres with more than 40 percent each, followed by cards and racing with almost 20 percent each, followed by Puzzle, Strategy, Fighting, Adventure, Shooter, Action RPG, Fashion, Casino, Music, RPG, Billiard, Educational and Cooking respectively.  


Strategy, Cards, Puzzle and Action RPG Games players tend to play them mostly using PC
individuals who play Strategy, Cards, Puzzle and Action RPG genres, play them using PCs, as more than 80 percent of the players for each of the mentioned categories use PCs to play, where the nature of those games revolves around multiple players and here the option of LAN network emerges as the most cost efficient and applicable option, with LAN of course, being mainly applicable on PCs. As for game genres such as sports, action, adventure and fighting, players seem to be more indifferent when it comes to choosing between PCs or TV connected consoles.
