Olson Tops Time Sheets in CFGP Pre-Season Testing

Under cloudy skies and mild 50 degree weather in China’s southern Guangdong Province, yesterday Pete Olson took to the top of the time sheets of the drivers participating in the day of pre-season CFGP testing [China Formula Grand Prix F2000 – www.cfgp.cc]. A satisfying result for Olson, this year he will be the first Westerner to compete on the CFGP Championship with the lofty goal of becoming the first American to win a professional race series in China.

“It was nice to be on top today, and a good confidence booster for the upcoming season” said Olson. “But there’s always room for improvement of course - there’s no such thing as the perfect lap. I’ve definitely improved the smoothness and flow of my driving at the limit of the car, and it’s paying off in laptimes – but obviously I always want more” said the ambitious American formula pilot.

The “Fittest driver in China”, Olson has been on a strong pre-season training regiment which includes two hours of weight training and cardio fitness per day, with regular formula car, karting, and simulator training on China’s circuits.

With his previous winning streak in Canada’s Bridgestone F2000 race series, Olson certainly has the prerequisite experience and skills to win the 2012 CFGP Championship. However as the American formula pilot says, “Winning is rarely easy – Championships are earned through hard work, dedication, determination – giving absolutely everything you have, every day, to be the Best of the Best.”
