National Seminar on Data Warehousing and Data Mining organized at Heritage

On 1st February 2012, Heritage Institute of Technology in association with IEEE Computer Society organized a National Seminar on the “Recent Trends in Data Warehousing and Data Mining” in the campus.

Feb. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- It was addressed by Prof. C .A Murthy, Professor, Machine Intelligence Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Prof. Ashish Ghosh, Professor, and in-charge, Soft Computer Research Center, Indian Statistical Institute, Mr Koushik Das, Sr. Managing Consultant, IBM India, and Mr Kishaloya Roychowdhury, Global Domain Solution Lead, IBM India.
The seminar focused on the new developments which are taking place in the area of Data Warehousing and Data Mining with greater emphasis on dimensionality reduction in Data Mining, Association rule mining and transformations in Data Warehousing. The day started with a huge gathering in the seminar hall of the campus where there were 120 participants from different engineering colleges of the city. The inauguration of the seminar was done by the guest speakers Prof. C A Murthy and Prof. Ashish Ghosh along with Mr Probir Roy, Executive Director and Mr Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions. It was also attended by senior faculty members of Department of Information Technology, Prof. Tapan Chakrabarti, HOD, Prof. Sudipta Bhadra, Asst. Prof, IT Department and many more. Truly a memorable happening in the history of Heritage Group of Institutions Kolkata.
