By: frederic The theatre's 1993 renovations added a 80,000-watt audio system, combined with computer-generated laser graphics, which enable the 170-member dance troupe to present a technologically enhanced version of traditional kh6n. Although the special effects are reasonably impressive, the excellent costumes, set design, dancing and music are reason enough to attend. Other Thai performing arts and film festivals may also be scheduled at the theatre. Check the local newspapers for current performance schedules. For ticket reservations, call the number listed or visit the box office personally. The theatre requests that patrons dress respect¬fully, which means no shorts, tank tops or sandals. Bring a wrap or long-sleeved shirt in case the air-con is running full blast.More : http://hotel- The Chalermkrung Royal Theatre is adjacent to the Old Siam Plaza complex. Air-con bus No 508 and ordinary bus Nos 48 and 73 pass the theatre (going west on Th Charoen Krung). Attendees often have dinner at the affiliated Supatra House before the 7.30pm performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A free shuttle picks up patrons at Tha Mahathat, near Silpakorn University; reservations are recommended. Dinner Theatre Many tourists view per¬formances put on solely for their benefit at one of the Thai classical-dance dinner theatres in the city. The admission prices at these venues costs 200B to 500B per person and includes a `typicar Thai dinner (often toned down for Western palates), a couple of selected dance performances and a mar¬tial arts display. The historic Oriental Hotel has its own dinner theatre, the Sala Rim Nam . The admission price is well above average (1600B) but so is the food, the performance and the Thai-pavilion decor (teak, marble and bronze). Call for reservations and starting times. Puppet Theatre The ancient art of Thai puppetry has been rescued by Sakorn Yangkhiawsod, who is known more popu¬larly as Joe Louis. His creations are controlled by three manipulators and can strike many human-like poses. Modeled after the characters in the Ramakian, the puppets perform in the Joe Louis Theatre # # # Many tourists have fallen in love with Thailand, and why not. A lot about history can be found in Thailand. They have traveled far and wide even before the others and have great influences all over the world. There are many museums you can go to and so many artifacts to see, plus there is so much to say about the food. More in french website : http://hotel- End
