“We’re excited about bringing our popular event to Vancouver”, stated Gerald Chopik, founder of MMA Expo and president of Fight Media’s new Events Division. “BC-area fans are passionate about MMA and together with the Fight Network we look forward to giving them access to all that is MMA including top celebrities that most will otherwise only see on pay-per-view.”
For fans looking to get photos and autographs with MMA stars there is a long list of great names on the Vancouver roster: Carlos Newton, Canada’s first-ever UFC Champion; Shonie Carter, MMA veteran of over 70 fights and holder of 16 belts; Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald fresh from an impressive win at UFC Toronto; also coming off an impressive 20-second KO at UFC Toronto, Vladimir Matyushenko;
For serious bragging rights Paradise Warriors Retreat on the show floor offers the unique opportunity for on-the-mat seminars with Jake Shields, Gilbert Melendez and legendary coaches Shawn Tomkins, Firas Zahabi and Pat Miletich. PWR instructors will also be available for autographs and photos through the weekend.
Exhibits include martial arts training facilities, suppliers of equipment, gear and apparel, distributors of supplements, nutrition products and energy drinks, MMA media, as well as fight promoters, the MMA Expo Hottie models and the introduction of the new Rockst*r Lager.
Also featured on the MMA Expo Vancouver show floor are four action-packed, martial arts tournaments held under the umbrella of the West Coast Combat Championships. Round-robin competitions showcase the diverse styles of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, No Gi Grappling, WKC Continuous Sparring and Amateur Mixed Martial Arts. Spectators have access to all tournaments with general admission to the Expo.
