Amazon selling cheaper Kindle 3G with ads

May 25, 2011 - PRLog -- On the web retailer Amazon.com Inc. is promoting an ad-laden version of its Kindle 3G e-reader, which has wireless services for downloading books.

Amazon explained late Tuesday the new Kindle 3G with Specific Delivers expenses $164. It consists of on-screen ads and it is $25 less expensive than the regular Kindle 3G.

Previous month, Amazon commenced selling a Wi-Fi-equipped Kindle with advertisements for $114 - $25 lower than the common Kindle with Wi-Fi.

The announcement came the identical day that Barnes & Noble Inc. introduced a cheaper model of its Nook e-reader with a black-and-white touch display. At $139, the brand new Nook shows the book seller is trying to compete with Amazon and Borders Group Inc. on e-reader prices.

Amazon has consistently lowered the Kindle's price since first releasing it at $399 in 2007.
