Gigaset produces 150 millionth Telephone “Made in Germany”

May 7, 2011 - PRLog -- 7th May, 2011: Riding the wave of continuous demand, Gigaset Communications has now passed the milestone of 150 million telephones produced in its plant in Bocholt, Germany. The European leader in the DECT market had already gradually raised its production capacity and process quality and now achieves a quality level of almost Q 100. The leading-edge automated production in Bocholt in Germany’s region of Westphalia currently has an annual capacity of up to 16 million units. On the strength of the high-quality products manufactured in Germany, the company has been able to steadily enhance its market position. Every second household in Germany and every fourth home in Europe has a Gigaset.

Gigaset Communications’ market share in Europe is about 33 percent in terms of the value of the products sold. That is almost as much as the combined sales of the next two competitors in the rankings. In Germany, the company’s market share is nearly 60 percent. With its premium strategy, based on quality “Made in Germany,” the manufacturer has strengthened its presence in its various markets and is able to achieve selling prices that are significantly higher than the European average.

The telephones are sold throughout the world: Gigaset Communications operates in about 70 countries. In Europe the company has a market share of about a third and is the clear market leader for cordless telephones. Building on the success of this residential customer business, Gigaset has now expanded its portfolio with the addition of multifunctional telephones for professional users in small and mid-sized enterprises. With its new telephone systems and system phones for professional users, the company is generating additional revenue growth.
