Dr. Vera food addiction expert speaks in Iceland. Icelandic's MFM treatment centre for food addiction and eating disorders (http://www.matarfikn.is) and ACORN Food Dependency Recovery Services (http://www.foodaddiction.com) are putting on the conference to address the medical perspective of food/sugar addiction, treatment as well as the science beyond the phenomenon. Dr. Vera Tarman will attend as a keynote speaker. The conference as a whole will discuss from a medical perspective food/sugar addiction, treatment and the science beyond the cause. Dr. Vera herself will discuss food addiction, the biological cause of addiction in the brain and the use of food by humans as a comfort mechanism. “For the majority of medical professionals, comfort eating is not viewed as an addiction disorder. Comfort eating is due to addiction” Says Dr. Vera. Her presentations and workshop outline how and why food can act like any other drug when consumed by individuals.
