Higher input costs continue to remain a concern for the company as it is not integrated. Though the company has been allotted the Utkal-E coal block with reserves of 70mt, mining is likely to commence only in 2012–13 resulting in higher dependence on imported coal. The company also remains exposed to fluctuations in prices of alumina and aluminium. The company has seen a 20% increase in market price on account of the uptrend in aluminium prices and is currently trading at a PE multiple of 17x FY12E
which looks expensive compared to peers. We have a ‘HOLD’ rating on the stock with a target price of INR 380.
