Stay away from all processed food and cut out the carbonated beverages, even the "low cal" ones. You do not want the artificial sweeteners and chemicals.

Should you have a sweet tooth and are occasionally enticed to have chocolates it may be preferable to have a small piece from time to time instead of obsessing over it and then pigging out with a multitude of chocolate bars (this is not a free pass to eat chocolate, be sensible, chocolate is probably why you need to lose weight in the first place). Shop for fresh fruit and each time you have hungers for something sweet, have some fruit. You will enjoy the sweetness without the guilt.

As with every new program it is recommended that you choose to start slowly and build up steadily as you gain experience. Even Arnold needed to start with low weight loads and educated from more knowledgeable weight lifters.
