Dec. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- The kitchen is a room that will be used continuously and is the heart of any home and so you will want to make sure you choose a floor tile that can stand the test of time and one that also looks good.   Kitchen floor tiles need to be durable and able to withstand lots of knocks and usage and this is why it is really important that you choose the correct floor tile.  You must also remember that the kitchen is one room where there will be lots of spills and accidents and things will be dropped onto the kitchen tiles regularly, all of this needs to be considered when choosing the right tiles.
Different material tiles will cost varying amounts and it really depends on your budget  which tile you will decide on.  Kitchen floor tiles come in various materials, styles and colours and when thinking about kitchen floors, you need to decide what colour and style you want.
There are lots of different types of tiles to choose from and it can become a little confusing when trying to consider the different materials.  Slate tiles are popular tiles for the kitchen because they are extremely durable as well as stain and slip resistant, the one disadvantage of slate tiles is that their colour choices are limited but they are worth considering as there may well be a slate tile that fits your colour scheme and choice completely.
Granite tiles are again a good choice and are completely stain resistant; Granite tiles have become more popular of the last couple of years. Granite tiles can add elegance to your home and is one of the more expensive tile choices.  The one drawback of Granite floor tiles is the maintenance of them; Granite flooring does need regular cleaning and can lose some of its colour over time.
Porcelain tiles are very durable and are resistant to both staining and moisture. Porcelain tiles are a popular choice and are readily available in a variety of colours and styles, making them a popular kitchen floor tile.
Quarry tiles are the more expensive choice of tile flooring but are again extremely durable. Quarry tiles are more difficult to lay but once they are, they will have an impressive presence.
Linoleum floor tiles are great for those looking for a cheaper floor option, they come in a wide variety of colours and styles and laying Linoleum tiles is cheaper and easier than the more expensive tiles.
Whichever floor tile you choose make sure you give it lots of thought and get advice from some of the many tile companies who will be only too happy to help you make the right choice.
