9th Annual Amble with Angus to raise money for the Calgary Food Bank

Nov. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Calgary, AB, Canada – November 5, 2010:  Amble with Angus (www.amblewithangus.com), an annual fun run in support of the Calgary Food Bank will be kicking off again on December 17th marking its 9th year of running.  At 7:30am, hundreds of athletes will brave the cold, running five kilometers in support of the Food Bank’s Children’s Milk Program.

In addition, Angus Cowan, a Partner at Ideaca Knowledge Services (www.ideaca.com) and avid runner , is recognizing the 25th anniversary of the CBC Suncor Food Bank Drive by running for 25 hours continuously to encourage donations for and awareness of the Children’s Milk Program.  Angus will begin his 25 hour solo run at 7:15am on December 16th, 2010 and then join the scheduled Annual 5 km   “Amble with Angus” for the final hour on December 17th.

Angus will circuit the 5 km course beginning at the arches in Eau Claire Market.

You, your company, your group of friends, or even a gaggle of family members can make an on-line donation and run, walk, roll or shuffle with Angus at select times during his 25 hour Amble. You can even make a donation and watch others do the running!

All funds raised through Amble with Angus support the Food Bank’s Children’s Milk Program which offers milk and formula to low-income families using the Food Bank’s refrigerated Moo Juice Van. Last year 63,422 litres of milk and 2,607 containers of infant formula were delivered to more than 1,800 homes in Calgary.

This year Amble with Angus hopes to raise $25,000.
