The River Lee Hotel on Western Road, Cork is set to celebrate Ireland's biggest jazz event (20-24th October next) with top Irish and international acts which see the venue transformed into a jazz mecca to appeal to all comers.  Over 1,000 jazz bands are set to perform in the city overall, and the hotel will see live performances in its Weir Bar & Boardwalk from 4pm daily with The Candidates, The Jazz Freaks, Zrazy and Paul O’Donnell.  
The line-up also includes 13 year old guitarist Andreas Varady, an accomplished and imaginative musician who is gaining international recognition who will feature on Sunday at 2pm.   Appearing first on RTE's 'The Guitar' competition in 2009, Andreas and has since been featured on BBC and RTE television and radio. He has also performed at many international festivals, including Belfast's Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, Sligo Jazz Festival, Derry Jazz Festival and Cork Jazz Festival and a performance with the Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra in New York City.  
Ruairi O’Connor, General Manager at the hotel told us:  ‘With our spacious bars and restaurants and several function rooms on the first floor, jazz aficionados can enjoy the freedom of several venues with music to suit all tastes.  We’ve ensured that our 4star property is affordable to visitors from outside the area with a special package of €169 per room per night (minimum 2 nights) which includes breakfast, a ticket to one of the Triskel events and a pint of Guinness on arrival!
