The gold rush has sparked a flurry of private placements for junior miners in all kinds of metals. Gold and copper are two of the favourites but make no mistake about it, deals are being done in all the metals.

This $5 million CDN private placement by Rockridge Capital is a good example of the kind of cash which is available to junior mining companies who have great claims and quality management.

Axemen Resource Capital did the deal for Rockridge. The team at Axemen is led by Cal Everett who is a mining finance legend on Howe Street.

Junior gold miners can also tap into private equity sources which are eager to do financings on actual gold production. Harbour Equity Partners in New York City is a good source of private equity for junior which have some production. Their gold fund is large and can handle fair size investments. This allows producing juniors to get funding without diluting the cap structure of the company.
