Aug. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- The latest version (http://www.imapbuilder.com) adds 5 more map templates, including Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia and Singapore maps. 5 icons have been added! They are all free to import and add to your interactive map to identify points of interest and pinpoint locations.

In addition, iMapBuilder now allows users to pinpoint an exact location using Latitude and Longitude easily. By just a click of mouse, a pop up window is displayed for users to type Latitude/ Longitude coordinates, select placemark icon, add text content and images to mouseover tooltips. Apart from typing map data manually, iMapBuilder mapping tool also features a [import map data from excel] function to facilitate and streamline the process of map building.

Plotting location of all the major cities in World map, United States, Europe and other countries is also possible. The placemarks showing all major cities will be displayed upon mouse click, and map users can choose other map icons as desired.

The application of map software is not limited to building geographical maps such as those showing branch offices, but also can be utilized to generate interactive mind maps for presenting ideas and concepts visually in brainstorming section; build family tree charts representing family relationships in a tree structure, create interactive flowcharts showing steps, and so on. These kinds of interactive image maps can be simply done by drawing rectangular, circular or polygonal (irregular) regions or ‘hotspots’. When a hotspot is clicked an action occurs, for example a pop up infobox with additional images and text will be presented, a new file opens or directing web visitors to different web pages.

If you have any custom map image in JPG, GIF, PNG or SWF format, it is possible for the web map program to import and convert it into an interactive map. You can also export the interactive map into a static JPG image for PowerPoint presentation or word document insertion.

" We concentrated on developing a Flash-based map application that is interactive, clickable, good looking and makes it easy for users with zero programming knowledge to customize. I think that we have produced something that is both funny and easy to use. Ever since the invention of the Internet, thousands of companies, organizations and government agencies feature a Flash web map to display the locations of the headquarters, branch offices in a clear and concise manner, visitors can explore more details with just a mouseover", said Godfrey Ko, Director of company, "In the past, only professional graphic designer and programmers were able to use advanced software to create sophisticated and interactive online maps, other people might be confused about how to get started and finally gave up because it is too technically challenging for them to build a map . Nowadays, any non technical users without programming skills can customize a number of web map templates, insert graphics, add text, create and upload a professionally-looking web map in minutes for the world to see,’ Ko added.

Interactive maps and images created using iMapBuilder can be easily integrated into any website, thanks to iMapBuilder's web publishing function. The files can also be burnt on a CD-ROM for instant distribution to potential clients and customers.
