Follow on Google News | Twilight Series versus The Judas Syndrome SeriesBoth the Twilight book series and The Judas Syndrome book series' main characters are teenage kids facing adversity. Twilight's lead character deals with the love of a Vampire while The Judas Syndrome's lead deals with the end of the world.
By: L. Berger Twilight's Bella battles her bizarre relationship with a vampire and a werewolf while The Judas Syndrome's Joel battles the reality that the world has come to a screeching halt. Both stories are told in first person, Twilight by a teenage girl and The Judas Syndrome by a teenage boy. For dark matter, The Judas Syndrome reigns supreme. Nothing could be more devastating than coming home from a camping trip with your friends to a world devastated by nuclear Armageddon. The emotions that follow are documented through Joel, an average teenager on the brink of graduation. The story is one of struggle balanced through victories no young life should ever have to celebrate. Throughout the story, hope returns, time and again occasionally quashed by the selfish or otherwise evil actions of another. Joel later becomes the leader over his friends, guided by a mysterious presence, an angel, a vision which teaches him destiny. A descent into madness follows and through the first person narration the reader lives every disturbing thought, every devastating decision. The Judas Syndrome wins out over Twilight in the horror genre, but also in the telling of a teenage tragedy so real, so honestly told, that no one that enters its pages will come away unscathed. The Judas Syndrome continues in Rebirth, the 2nd of the series. End
