May 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Most financial advisers recommend getting one of the three credit reports a quarter. By getting one report every four months, you can can monitor the activity regularly.

Aurora Lillo Editor of the "Best Credit Reporting Services" website -- http://www.BestCreditReportServices.com -- pointed out;

“...Each credit file will be a little different. Not all banks report to every credit agency. By monitoring your credit rating, you can watch for fraudulent activity, changes in reporting from creditors, and any inquiries made in your name...”

Your credit scores can determine your eligibility for not only credit worthiness, but also for employment. When looking over your reports, check the following: your name, including the spelling, your current address, previous addresses listed, place of employment, previous places of employment, inquiries made, new accounts opened, balances on current accounts, statuses of all accounts, and any other data reported.

If you should find any discrepancies, you should contact the appropriate agency to dispute the information being reported. Incorrect information on your file can affect your overall score. For example, you were divorced last year. Your ex was responsible for paying off all credit card debt. When you pull your free report, you discover he/she did not pay off a card. Then, you have the proof to take the proper actions to make sure the payoff is made.

“...A free credit report can be found at www.creditreport.com, www.freecreditreport.com, and www.freecreditreport360.com. Remember to access your credit score and report once every four months. Check with each agency once per year...” added A. Lillo.
