World Expo Visitors Need To Know—Visit Expo at Night

With time of ticketing at 16:00—20:00 and time of entering at 17:00, the World Expo committee offered a great opportunity to world expo fans who would like to enjoy the night scenery and great shows while dodging the heat and large population in daytime. However, even though the expo itself claimed to close at 12pm, some pavilions finish their shows and stop visitors from entering pavilions earlier--at as early as 9pm, making the sightseeing process a bit confused. In order to visit the expo more efficiently, World Fair fans can rearrange their time and come up with new strategies of travelling based on below information.

Japan Pavilion: No show after 10PM
Currently, it is necessary to queuing for an hour and a half to get in Japan Pavilion. There are 36 theatrical shows in a whole day, which end entirely at 10PM. The termination of queuing is at 9:30PM.

Italy Pavilion: Queuing Time Halve

It takes around one hour to get in pavilion from the beginning. Italy Pavilion closes at 10PM, so the queuing process ends at 9:30PM. Except the artificial- shoe-making show at 7PM, there is no difference in contents from the daytime’s.

French Pavilion: Extraordinary Effect at Night
It needs approximately 20 minutes to get in the elevator leading to the pavilion. Compare to a daytime visit, it is cooler and less crowded at night. Closed at 9PM, the termination of queuing is at about 8:45PM. Even there is no difference in content at night, the visual effect of the video works looks clearer.

British Pavilion: Diversified “Seed Cathedral”
The time of queuing reduced dramatically to get in the pavilion (about 15-20 minutes) compare to day time (around 2 hours). “Seed Cathedral” starts lighting system at 6:30PM, likes being studded with stars. Different from day time, the whole building is lighted up at night, so the visual effect and your moods may vary.

Finland Pavilion: Santa comes to Shanghai on August

A shining spot in Finland pavilion is the Santa Clause, as the “Santa” returned to Finland yesterday, we were told that we will not see him until August. The closure time for Finland pavilion is 10:30PM; and it takes no time to get in the pavilion at night.

Saudi Arabia Pavilion: It Still Takes Two Hours to Get in the Pavilion

The Saudi Arabia Pavilion is an exceptional at night, with almost as much visitors as in the daytime. Although the Pavilion closes at 10:30PM, to guarantee all visitors’ entrance to the pavilion, staff at Saudi Arabia Pavilion terminates the queuing at 8:30PM.

Spain Pavilion: Non-Stop Entering

The closing time for entering Spain Pavilion is at 9:45PM. Since only small numbers of visitors queuing, visitors can even get in the pavilion without waiting.

Switzerland Pavilion: No Cable-Car at Night

In daytime, the queuing time for the pavilion runs up to three hours (maximally 4 hours). The queue is stopping at 9:55PM for entering the pavilion. The opening hour for cable car ride in Switzerland pavilion is from 10AM to 6PM, so visitors cannot enjoy it at night. Except the cable car, visitors see no other different scenes at night. Still, the I-MAX movie operates with stunning visual effect as usual.

African Union Commission Pavilion: Partial Shops put up their shutters

Compare to the bustling in daytime, when we arrived at this pavilion at 9PM last night, we only met much fewer people visiting the African Union pavilion. Some shop owners remain stay and introduce their artifacts. On the other hand, the African singing and dancing still operates at night.
