Pattaya's first Disabled Friendly Condominium

April 21, 2010 - PRLog -- APUS Condominium, have recently announced that their luxury urban Smart Condominium  will now be offering disabled friendly facilities. In what seems to be a first for a Condominium project in Pattaya, APUS will be installing in rooms (at a client’s request) extra wide door openings suitable for wheelchairs, grab bars in bathrooms and showers, specially adapted toilets, light switches at 1m in height, centralised lighting control pad, a ramp to the private balcony .

In addition to this plans are under way so that the swimming pool decking and communal garden area will have wheelchair ramps and pathways in order to provide easier access and enjoyment for disabled and physically impaired unit owners. Access to the main lobby areas will also have a wheelchair ramp and hand rails. Marketing Director- Jason Payne explained “We have been taking advice from a number of disabled associations, in the UK, Thailand and America, to ensure that we have at least the bare minimum installed in our rooms and communal areas, however this has led us in a direction to looking at offering everything that someone may need, from a custom built swimming pool chair lift to specially designed swimming pool sun beds and seating”

This move by APUS does seem a wise one with so many retirees living in Pattaya, and we are told that the Developers are taking this very seriously whereby they will listen to a potential clients needs and adapt and change the rooms accordingly. “Our plan at the moment is to work with potential clients on a one to one basis, however we are working on an idea whereby we can adapt the entire ground floor of building B specifically for this- “the ground floor will ideal for wheelchair users, thus eliminating the need to use elevators and most importantly in an emergency fire escapes”

APUS Condominium is located in Central Pattaya within walking distance to Carrefour Supermarket and located as such that beaches, nightlife, hospitals are all within a 5-10 minute journey.

This luxury low-rise development has two 7 storey buildings each housing just 79 units which all overlook the stunning free-form saltwater swimming pool and tropical gardens.
