April 10, 2010 - PRLog -- As a result, there are a seemingly infinite number of websites offering lists of properties in foreclosure. Many of these websites offer their services for free.

Hector Milla Editor of the "Foreclosure Listings Free" website -- http://www.ForeclosureListingsFree.biz -- pointed out;

“…Some are scams, hitting the new home buyer up for fees at some point, but many are legitimate and offer a great service to someone who is trying to save money to get into their new home. But consumers need to careful about how often the sites are updated. Using a free foreclosure listing website that is not updated regularly can end up costing in lost time, energy and disappointment…”

Many people have experienced the feeling of seeing something for sale at a store, only to find it is sold out when they get there. Using a listing website that is not updated regularly can be like that, only magnified, because we’re not talking about a consumer good but a house. It takes time to dig through the hundreds and thousands of listings that reputable sites have on offer, sifting through all the permutations of price and bedrooms and bathrooms, checking the areas, making sure they have good schools and enough activities in the area; all the things a family goes through when looking to move. All that research takes a lot of time. If the time is wasted because the website hasn’t been updated in weeks or months will be a very frustrating experience.

Additionally, the time taken can match the energy put into the search; driving out to a house, trying to determine if this is the right house, if the kids will like living there, what will the market look like in a few years, how about work, is it close to hospitals or whatever interests the family may have. All that takes not only time, but energy and can create an emotional attachment to a location. If that ends in disappointment because the house was sold last month but the website didn’t bother to take it down will create a lot of ill will towards not only the website, but the process.

“…When checking out websites that offers free foreclosure listings in your area, be sure to find out how often they update. It can save you and your family a lot of time, energy, and disappointment…” added H. Milla.
