By: TT electronics BI Technologies “The HM72B surface mount power inductor features an extremely robust design, including a pressed powdered iron alloy core construction, allowing it to withstand environmental elements,” said Donna Schaefer, application engineering manager for TT electronics BI Technologies. “The robust design and small size make the inductor ideal for a variety of applications, including those in the telecom, industrial and automotive markets.” Specific applications for the RoHS-compliant molded power inductor include servers, notebooks, work stations, DC/DC converters, point-of-load modules, telecom and datacom equipment, and LED lighting drivers. Typical inductance values for the HM72B surface mount power inductor range from 0.10µH to 33μH. Heating current ranges from 1.8Adc to 26.2Adc, and saturation levels range from 3.5Adc to 60Adc. Operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +155°C, with a maximum temperature rise rating of 50°C. Typical DC resistance ranges from 1.5mΩ to 302mΩ. The HM72B inductors are available in 2000-piece tape and reel packages. Custom devices are also available.
