Unfortunately, it isn't always easy for consumers to know whether or not a particular product will actually be as safe and effective as the manufacturer claims at reducing various contaminants from your water supply.

LHB Appliances and PureH2O Water Treatment Service Systems have a long history of developing and running independent product testing programs. In fact, Brubaker is the leading independent tester of home water treatment products on the market today. With our state-of-the-art laboratories and highly skilled staff, Brubaker has the knowledge and expertise to effectively evaluate water treatment products, including:

•   Filtration filters (i.e. carbon, charcoal, KDF, ceramic)
•   Reverse osmosis systems
•   Water softeners
•   Distillation systems
•   Ultraviolet disinfection products.

As an added assurance for consumers, Pure H2O Water Treatment Service requires that all products meet annual re-certification requirements. Unannounced plant inspections and periodic retesting of all certified products are required of all Pure H2O Water Treatment Service products.

This is a picture of the radial flow filters we recommend as a replacement in our Big Blue filter housings. The filter on the left is a  (25-30 micron pleated) dirt and sediment pre-filter and the one on the right is a GAC (25-30 micron carbon) taste and odor post-filter. Filters with a radial flow pattern (water flows through the sides and the filter has a hole through the center) are best as a replacement because they have higher flow rates and will last the longest between changes. Products they certify continue to meet all stated requirements year after year.
