Five Small Miracles ( By Askin Ozcan )

I have experienced many miracles in my life. Some really big, some small. Thirty of these, I related in my book "SMALL MIRACLES" - ISBN 1598001000 (Outskirts Press) Here, I shall relate five small, but wonderful miracles which happened to me.

March 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Like every human being, I have my shortcomings and make my mistakes. Once, prior to my leaving the bad habit of playing  slot machines, (which generate income only for their owners, never for the players), I had lost all my money in my pocket- around  400 Swedish crowns (approximately $ 60). Going out of the restaurant, I regretted that I had spent all my money on those machines and had nothing left for a pizza, as I felt quite hungry. Right at that moment I found on the street a 50 crown banknote, exactly the amount needed for a pizza. I went to the near-by pizza shop and had a pizza.
---
Once I sent 100 crowns to the Red Cross from the local post office- the very last money I had. I would get my salary the next day and did not need any money, I thought.
After I sent the money to the Red Cross, I remembered that I had no bread at home.
Two steps later, I found a 100 crown banknote, just outside the post-office.
---
Once, I was gazing around, in The Sheraton Hotel in Stockholm. I felt hungry, but I had only 50 crowns in my pocket. I looked at the menu of the cafe but one needed at least  200 crowns for a dinner, more if one wanted wine too. I decided to go home, but tried my chance at the roulette table in the lounge. I won on single numbers nine times and made 450 crowns. The manager came by and said he never saw in his forty years as manager,
anyone who won nine times on single numbers. People started to ask me to play for them too!
Then, I went to the restaurant and had a gorgeous dinner. With the remaining money, I played roulette again and lost.
---
Now, I never gamble. It is not  clever to risk the hard- earned money, as there is always a bigger risk to loose, than a possibility to win!
---
Once, we went with my mother to the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm, to renew our passports. We planned to have a fish lunch, on the way back, in a special restaurant which had special lunches for 70 crowns. The passport fees being increased, we didn't have enough money left for two fish lunches. Getting out of the bus in the center of the City, I found 140 crowns- the precise price for two fish lunches.
---
Once, I had visited a business friend in Geneva, Switzerland. I had planned to stay for two days. Unfortunately, our business discussion didn't finish in two days and I was required
to stay one more day. I had limited cash on me. But, I found  70 Swiss francs on the street which enabled me to pay for one more day, at the hotel.
---
